LinkedHope® Launched a XMC Graphics & Image Processing Board Based on AMD Radeon™ E8860

September 23rd, 2016, as an independent embedded computer manufacturer, LinkedHope® launched a China local-designed, local-manufactured reinforced conduction-cooled XMC display control board, named XM61001. It is mainly used for high-performance embedded graphics & image processing and GPU general-purpose computing (GPGPU) applications. Based on AMD Radeon™ E8860 embedded GPU, XM61001 provides proven solutions for in-vehicle, ship electronics, and avionics, even other harsh working conditions or environment where high-performance graphics, image and video processing capabilities are needed. XM61001 has 768/48 GFLOPS single/double precision peak (600e/4.5Gbps) processing performance and 640 independent computing units (shaders) as well as a maximum power consumption of 37W, and a minimal power consumption of about 15W when adjusted to low power mode. It is especially suitable for high definition (1920*1080) and 4K (3840*2160) UHD displays, high-performance parallel computing and other GPGPU applications, such as image processing, digital signal processing, command and control, and video surveillance system.

XM61001 has a 128-bit GDDR5 independent video memory up to 2GB, and the whole board is reinforced to meet the anti-shock and anti-vibration requirement described in VITA 42 and VITA 48 specifications. XM61001 also supports OpenGL 4.2 and DirectX 11.1 APIs and industry-standard OpenCL™ 1.2 program language.

XM61001 supports up to six independent display output interfaces, including VGA, DisplayPort (DP), HDMI and DVI. All are implemented through the front I/O connectors or a XMC(PMC) rear I/O connector.

In terms of multimedia and video, the UVD4 engine of XM61001 supports decoding of different formats like H.264, VC-1, MPEG-4 and MPEG-2; the VCE engine of XM61001 supports decoding of H.264.

LinkedHope® provides a variety of COTS products and related software supports for conversion of variant industrial standard video and display form factors and the compression, transmission and storage of graphics, images and videos, so that users can quickly build application systems.

XM61001 uses the reinforced conduction-cooled design and has a wide working temperature of -40°C to +70°C. Its design and manufacture meet the requirements of relevant standards. In addition, XM61001 also has the air-cooled version available.
